Art Club is Changing..
January 2014
Art Club will begin again on Tuesday 14th January from 3:05 to the later time of 5:00pm. There will be a new system in place, where students are required to sign up to attend Art Club. There are a maximum of 30 spaces and students can only attend, if they have placed their name on the signing in sheet. Those that want to attend but there are no spaces, can automatically sign up to the next Art Club session. It is such a delight to see so many interested and attending Art Club but, there can only be a maximum of 30 students for each session. The Art Club sheet will be placed on my noticeboard in the Art room at the beginning of each week.

A huge thank you to Ms Meredith for everything she has done for the Art department at Gwernyfed. Ms Meredith has transformed the department which excels in creativity, inspires students and achieves very high standards. We wish her all the best in the future and we hope she enjoys her retirement!
We would also like to welcome Mrs S. Hughes who is joining the department after the Christmas break.
Years 7 and 8 Art Spelling books
February 2014
At the beginning of next term A5 notebooks will be issued to year 7 and 8 Art students. Students will be required to take note and log any spelling corrections, key words, sentence starters and any terminology used within their Art lessons. The spellings books will be kept in school within student folders.

New department logos
April 2014
During Art Club, students were set a challenge by myself and Miss Jones to design a new logo for the Art and Welsh department. The designs above were the chosen two. The new logo for the Art department was designed and created by Eva Meredith (year 7) and the new Welsh department logo was designed and created by Lili Stiff (Year 7). Well done girls, they are fantastic logos, Da iawn ti!
